Traditionally, Korean people celebrate the beginning of a New Year by watching the first sunrise of the year and wishing upon the rising sun.
Again , without any exception, people are swarming to the east coast to see the
sunrise.
Why don't you have the time of reflecting on the 2011 with the family rather than
stuck in a traffic jam to the east coast.

Saturday
Now most areas are relatively sunny with little clouds around thanks to the high
pressure.
Highs throughout Gangwon, Ulleungdo, Dokdo and Gyeongsang areas will reach
the mid-40s while low 30s will be common across the Upper Midwest and the
general western province.
According to the KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration), snow or sleets are
possible in the region of Seoul, Gyeonggi, Honam and the west coast late
afternoon today, so be careful on your way home.
New Year's Day
Sunday will be under the influence of low pressure trough.
Therefore skies will be overcast and snow clouds will be sticking around for most
area.
There will be some light snow across the metropolitan region, ChungChong and
Honam area, but the amounts are not likely to be significant.
Relatively heavy snowfalls are expected in the region of Gangwon.
Expected snowfall accumulations are 7.8 inches, it's quite sizable.
We'd better brace for a big chill and never forget to winterize your car.
