Freezing weather gripped all over the country as powerful cold continental high
pressure system is dominating the whole nation.
Coupled with the coldest weather of the year, heavy snow is forecasted in some
parts of southwestern region including Jeju.
According to the KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration), Chungcheongdo and
Jeju areas are expected to receive 4 inches amount of snowfall, while its Honam
will have 1 inch of accumulation.
A freeze watch has been issued in the area of north-central Gyeonggi and
Gangwon inland region.
The deep freeze is not likely to let up during the daytime as highs nationwide are forecast to be well below 30s.
Especially in the Seoul area, midday highs will be around 20s.
Cold and strong winds have driven the wind chill temperatures to well-below 20s in metropolitan region.
We won't shake this trend until Saturday afternoon.
